When your GPS announces, "In 3.4 km, turn right into the jungle," you know that adventure awaits. That's precisely what happened to us on the outskirts of Hoang Tri, during our exploration of a new route to the mysterious Tham Phay cave.
Exploring a new route from Hoang Tri to Tham Phay Cave - Mr Linh's Adventure - Garmin Connect
An Engaging Route
Our journey will start in Hoang Tri, a picturesque village nestled about ten kilometers from
Ba Be lake and our
Ba Be Jungle Houses resort. From there, we will venture into uncharted territory, following a trail of just under 4 kilometers through enchanting landscapes, where lush rice paddies, majestic bamboo forests, and corn plantations unfold. A well-deserved break at Tham Phay Bamboo Lodge, a traditional stilt house, will allow us to recharge before venturing into the mysterious and spectacular depths of the Tham Phay cave.
From Warm-up to Real Terrain
The initial steps are gentle, almost too easy. A verdant path peacefully winds through the bamboo. An idyllic start that might suggest a family stroll. But the wild nature soon reminds us of its presence. The trail becomes more challenging, the slope steepens, and the tropical forest reveals its true essence, reminding us that we are at the gates of
Ba Be National Park, not in a public garden.
