Bac Ha, the biggest highland market in North Vietnam takes place on every Sunday. To get there, the villagers in the surrounding hill tribes have to walk or ride horses from the early morning or even the day prior. There are Flower H’mong, Phu La, Black Dzao, Tay and Nung coming to this market situated 80km from Sapa, and is very well known in the area not only for its vibrant colours and local hill tribe people but also for the unique livestock market for selling horses, cattle and other domesticated animals.
